Stillness
Where practice softens. Supportive bolsters and cushions, a blanket for savasana, and eye pillows for the quiet end of practice.

On staying.
Stillness is not the absence of effort but a different kind — the work of remaining, which the mind resists longer than the body.
Beginning a restorative practice.
Mostly waiting. A few shapes, propped so the body carries nothing, held long enough to soften. Five minutes is not too long; twenty is not either.
A weight over the eyes.
A small weight tells the body it is safe to stop. The light goes out, and the breath slows on its own.
